Mike Meyerheim Director of Recruitment and Alumni RelationsOriginally from the Bronx, New York, Mike grew up in Englewood, New Jersey. Mike has a degree in Human Ecology from The College of The Atlantic in Bar Harbor Maine. Mike was a very active member in Masada, the youth movement of the Zionist organization of America, and made his first trip to Israel on July 4th 1976, the day Israel successfully returned over 100 Israeli hostages from Entebbe. Mike participated and led several Israel programs for the ZOA and in 1979 did his junior year at Tel Aviv University. In 1982 Mike volunteered to the Israel Defense Forces and was an active soldier in the First Lebanon War. In 1986 Mike became a Madrich for AMHSI. In 1990 Mike returned to the U.S. with his wife, Judy, who had been a sequentials teacher at AMHSI. Working in operations management, Mike continued his participation within the Jewish communities as a board/committee member of the Israel Desk, Midrasha Jewish High School, and has served as an advisor for NFTY as well as a commission chair for USY. Having returned recently to AMIIE, Mike's position as Director of Recruitment and Alumni Relations sees him traveling often throughout the U.S. overseeing the National recruitment and assisting with marketing operations, as well as reaching out to alumni. Mike has two daughters, Shelley, who recently returned from participating on a gap year program in Israel and Tal, who recently completed her high school studies in Israel. Mike's wife Judy works at Brown University.
