Your local AMHSI Director of Admissions (DA) will work closely with you and your school guidance counselor to create a schedule to enable you to come and study at AMHSI for 8 weeks, without "missing" school! We will ensure you get the most credit possible from our core Israel history class. Usually, your school will allow your grade from AMHSI to be your quarter grade in Social Studies, English and other subjects, instead of having to do your home schoolwork. What happens to studying other school subjects? You won't "miss" any schoolwork because in addition to the core curriculum, the AMHSI Sequential Studies Program offers small group (oftentimes one-on-one) instruction classes in Mathematics, Science, Foreign Language, AP History, Computer courses, Humanities and many other courses. Students who are enrolled in these courses in their home schools bring their assigned textbooks and course outlines to Israel. Instruction is properly arranged in advance so that the home school's curriculum is thoroughly covered in Israel. Your sequential studies courses will be taught on campus in the afternoons, with you completing the same work assigned from your home school. Your DA will assist you to acquire class assignments from your home school that can then be sent to AMHSI. Students who need to maintain progress in certain subject areas will need to acquire a class plan from their home school teachers, which will then be sent to our staff in Israel. Your DA will assist you with this too. Many students have even reported returning home after AMHSI to find that their grades for the sequential studies subjects were not only at the same level as their home-school peers, but oftentimes even higher, due to the intimate size of the tutorial classes in Israel! AMHSI is able to provide instruction at all levels, including AP, IB and college classes. You can take the AP, PSAT, SAT, IB and ACT exams in Israel. |
