AMIIE welcomes Australian students!

AMIIE has collaborated with Academy BJE for a second year running to bring the second group of Australian students from Sydney to Israel!

The group, made up of eleven Grade 10 & 11 students from a number of schools around NSW, touched down in Israel on November 17, marking the start of their action-packed 6-week Israel adventure. The group will enjoy their "summer break" - the AMIIE way - travelling around the country and being inspired by the rich 4,000-year history of the Jewish people. This marks a significant stepping stone for AMIIE in its efforts to expand its programs to more students and countries from around the Diaspora.

The following are snippets taken from appreciative letters received from parents of the Australian students to Chaim Fischgrund, our Headmaster:

"Dear Chaim,
I would like to thank you most earnestly and sincerely for opening your doors to these Australian students and most particularly, my daughter Jodie. I wish you and you staff every success with the program in the future and hope we will be in a position to send our son in the footsteps Jodie has blazed. Thank you and regards, John and Gaye Lawrence"

"Dear Chaim,
I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing for my children what I should have done for all these years.Due to circumstances, my children have not been able to have the "background" of being Jewish, due to locations of where we have lived etc. While they have always known and appreciated that they are Jewish, I don't think they have ever had the understanding of what it is to be Jewish. My children called me every day while on the trip and to hear their excitement and joy at learning about their culture was the most wonderful thing for me as their mother.

To say that this trip has been a blessing would be an understatement. Both children are at an age where they need to find themselves and their identity and I truly believe that this trip has enabled both of them to do just that.

Words cannot express my depth of gratitude to all those that made the trip the most wonderful life experience for both my children. Karen Quigley"
