Educator Training

E-mail

At the request of some of the communities AMIIE works with, we have put together Educator Training sessions to instruct teachers on how to best "teach Israel" to young students. These sessions are taught by AMIIE faculty in the Diaspora community, in Israel or both according to the needs of the group. We work directly with local educators to develop curriculum and techniques that will deliver a high quality, exciting, and captivating course to young people about Israel.

For example, in 2003, 35 educators from day and synagogue schools in the Philadelphia area, many of whom had never been to Israel, studied the history of Israel's land and people along with the study of our unique teaching techniques with AMIIE faculty. A special follow up session was held in Israel over the summer to add an experiential element to the training. This activity is estimated to have impacted hundreds of students in the first year alone who now have a taste of Israel that they will carry with them throughout their lives.

During the summer of 2004, AMIIE conducted Educator Training sessions in Israel for groups of teachers from Boca Raton and Miami. So unique is our teaching method that our educators also conduct teacher training courses for Israeli teachers of Israel history! Programs such as these are customized by our Headmaster, Chaim Fischgrund, with input from the educators themselves to best respond to the needs of particular communities.
