*AMHSI Alumni Salute Israel in NY

AMHSI Alumni reunite to march in Israel Day Parade in New York on June 1, 2008.

AMHSI alumni marched together at the Salute to Israel parade on Sunday June 1st, celebrating Israel's 60th anniversary of Independence.

The parade, held annually in New York City, boasted hundreds of thousands of participants and millions of spectators, bringing together American-Jewish communities in support of and loyalty to Israel. Alumni embraced a perfect opportunity to get together and show their support for Israel and AMHSI - the program that introduced them to Israel in the first place!

Originally from all over the country including Minnesota, Florida, and even some native New Yorkers, alumni at the parade are now all living in the New York area and enjoyed meeting fellow NY alumni. Representing three decades of AMHSI "quin" sessions, alumni marched down Fifth Avenue, reminiscing over shared teachers, dorms, and even where to get the best falafel near campus.

Thank you to all those who joined the parade with us this year! We were glad to march with you and hope to see you at another upcoming alumni event. For those who couldn't make it, mark your calendars for next year's parade and we'll see you then!
