The Alexander Muss Institute for Israel Education

  • Our acronym, AMIIE, reminds us of Ayin Mem Yud, the word for "my people" in Hebrew
  • Provides unique, living history encounters to learners of all ages
  • Leads the field in customizing Israel educational experiences that will stir your emotions and touch your heart
  • Home of the groundbreaking experiential High School in Israel program which has impacted over 18,000 alumni since 1972

Our goal is to be the foremost provider of Israel learning experiences and encounters with the living history of Israel.

We believe that a strong understanding of, and relationship with Israel, is a vital component to developing and fostering Jewish leadership in communities world wide, thereby ensuring the continuity of the Jewish people.

We offer a menu of exciting Israel education programs for teens, adults, Family and Bar/Bat Mitzvah tours, Jewish Day Schools, college students and more. Our community education programs, taught by our renowned faculty, bring Israel to life for lay and professional leaders and learners of all ages. Programs can be taught in Israel, Europe, the United States and even in Cyberspace. Every program offered by the Alexander Muss Institute for Israel Education can be customized to meet the needs and goals of schools and community groups.

Our "crown jewel" is The Alexander Muss High School in Israel, the only pluralistic, accredited academic program in Israel for English speaking North American High School juniors and seniors. AMHSI's unique teaching style and ability to bring Israel's history to life is the basis for all the work we now do as AMIIE. The Alexander Muss Institute provides North American Jews with an interactive experience that blends cultural and academic elements with the lessons of history that continue to ignite our passion for our Eretz Yisrael, our heritage and homeland.

Recent Accomplishments

  • 16 Jewish Day Schools in the past year have selected AMHSI as their preferred Israel experience partner.
  • We initiated AMIIE's first educational journey through our Jewish history and heritage in Eastern Europe in Spring 2004, led by our faculty. These popular tours have become an instant success.
  • Enrollment in the Alexander Muss High School in Israel program jumped by more than 200% between 2003 and 2007, and so far we are expecting a further increase in enrollment from 2007 for 2008.
  • Educator Training completed in Philadelphia for 35 teachers - followed by an experiential hands-on session in Israel.
  • Expanded our capacity to accommodate students on our secure Hod Ha'Sharon campus by 33% with the November 2003 dedication of the Gertrude Silverstone Muss dormitory.
